Terms of Use

1. What CurioPlay is
CurioPlay is a media player. You point it at a playlist or provider you already have, and it plays and organises that content on your Apple devices.
CurioPlay contains no television channels, films or series of its own. The only media included in the app is a small Sample Library of Creative Commons films from the Blender Foundation, provided so the app can be demonstrated without a provider. Full credits are in Settings → About → Sample content credits.
2. The content you add is yours, and your responsibility
CurioPlay does not supply, host, resell, index or endorse any channel, film or series. It ships with no provider addresses built in and does not help you find providers.
When you add a playlist or provider, you confirm that you are entitled to access that content — for example through your own subscription with that provider. You are responsible for what you add and for complying with the laws that apply to you and with your provider's own terms.
We run no service that stores your library, and we cannot see, verify or moderate what you add. The one exception is described in the Privacy Policy: on Apple TV, if you leave crash reporting on, recent diagnostic messages attached to a crash report can include channel and title names and your provider's hostname. You can turn that off in Settings on the Apple TV.
3. Accounts
CurioPlay has no account of its own — no CurioPlay sign-up and no CurioPlay login, and nothing you do is tied to an identity we hold.
You may sign in to services you already have, such as your IPTV provider. Those are your accounts with those companies, governed by their terms, not ours.
4. Free use and CurioPlay Pro
The player is free. Live TV, the programme guide, films, series, search, browsing, favourites, resume and Kids Mode all work with one playlist at no cost, with no advertising.
CurioPlay Pro is an optional purchase that adds convenience features such as multiple providers and syncing your watch state between your own devices. Playback is never time-limited, degraded or held behind the purchase.
Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) and as a one-time lifetime purchase. New subscribers may be offered a free trial on the yearly plan; its length and the price billed afterwards are shown before you confirm, and any unused part of a trial is forfeited if you buy before it ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy. You manage or cancel a subscription in Settings on your Apple device, not in CurioPlay — we cannot cancel it for you. The lifetime purchase is a one-off and is shared through Family Sharing.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
5. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use CurioPlay to access content you have no right to access, and do not use it to break the law where you live. Do not attempt to reverse engineer the app except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Availability and changes
CurioPlay is provided as it is. Playback depends on your provider, your network and your device — things outside our control. Features may change between versions, and third-party services the app talks to may change or stop, which can affect artwork, descriptions or programme guides.
8. The licence itself
These are supplemental terms about how CurioPlay works. The licence to use the app is Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement, which applies to CurioPlay and which you can read at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where anything here conflicts with it, that agreement wins.
That agreement already settles the questions this document deliberately does not repeat: it is between you and us and not with Apple, it limits liability, and — for residents of the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland — it applies the law and the courts of the country you live in. Nothing in either document removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be removed.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms, or any complaint about the app, should go to curioplayapp@gmail.com.
